Pygmalion effect

The Pygmalion Effect refers to the phenomenon in which higher expectations from others lead to an increase in an individual’s performance, based on the principle of a self-fulfilling prophecy. When someone in a position of authority (e.g., a teacher, manager, or leader) expects a person to succeed, they may treat them in ways that foster greater achievement, thereby bringing about the expected behavior.
