Inferiority Complex

Inferiority complex is a psychological condition where a person consistently feels less worthy, less capable, or not as good as others. This feeling is often deeply rooted and may stem from past experiences, upbringing, or perceived failures.

It can lead to:

  • Low self-esteem
  • Overcompensation (trying too hard to prove worth)
  • Avoidance of challenges
  • Sensitivity to criticism

The term was introduced by adlers-theory-of-personality, who believed that feelings of inferiority are a normal part of development but when these feelings become overwhelming and unresolved, they form a complex that can hinder growth and lead to unhealthy behavior.
