The Goldilocks Rule

Goldilocks Rule for Motivation states that human motivation is at the peak when the task we perform is at the right difficulty level compared to our skills. We lose motivation if the task becomes too hard or too easy.

If it gets too easy, we'll get bored. If it's too hard, we'll lose motivation.

Human brain loves challenges. It loves to figure things out because that activates the reward hormone. But if the task gets too hard then the efforts vs. reward isn't worth it anymore. Then, comfort feels like the better reward. So we give up.
